DEFINITIONS
ancient world - the earth and universe prior to the flood of Genesis 7.
Cainite line - the progeny and descent of Cain, the son of Adam and Eve, Genesis 4:17-
24.
godly line - the progeny and descent of those who practiced the worship of the true God;
primarily the progeny and descent of Seth, the son of Adam and Eve, Genesis 5:3-32. The term
does not preclude the inclusion of other people, not of the descent of Seth, who may have also
practiced the worship of the true God.
Nephilim - beings noted in Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33.
theory, the - the proposal that the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:2 are angels from heaven that mated
with the "daughters of men" in Genesis 6:2 and produced children who were giants and leaders of
society.
