Dear Nephew
Your letter of Dec 20th came safe to hand about the 19th of this month
I was Somewhat Supprised to hear from you. I did not know where you lived or your
mother Since I have benn Sick I have pretty much lost trackof all my
relations. You tell me to write Soon and you will tell me lots of news and that you think of
coming out to this Country if you should you will come to San Francisco
by Rail road then take Steamer to Portland Oregon then up the Columbia River from Portland to
Columbus and you will find my place one half mile North East on the goldendale
Road this is a good Country for a person to get a Start in and I would rather
live here than any place that I ever lived - I think you would like it - if you write to your Mother
tell her that I have not forgoten her all these long years and Send her my
Love tell her I would be pleased to get a letter from
her I will not write a long letter this time as I hope to hear from you
Soon I am now preparing my ground for my garden
Shall plant some things next week the winter is all most over here and
Stock are getting their living

Dear Brother George
I should have wrote to you a long time ago but did not know where to direct a letter but as
lucius tells me he is staying with you this winter I will write just a few lines this time to let you
know that I have not entirely forgotten my Dear Brother during all the years that have passed
away Since we took the parting hand to go our different ways in life nearly
14 years have taken their rappid flight Since that time and many changes in
life have happened to us both I can not give you a History of mine from
that time untill the present just now.
